NE1 Electrical Ltd is a NAPIT registered electrical contractor based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Founded in 2019 by electrician Rob McGowan, the company was set up to give Newcastle a straightforward, reliable electrical service: we answer the phone, turn up when we say we will, explain things in plain English and do the job properly.
Today our electricians work across the whole of Newcastle, Gateshead and Tyne and Wear for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and businesses, with a 24/7 emergency line answered every day of the year.
What we do
Our work covers domestic, landlord, commercial and industrial installations, from a single extra socket to a full rewire:
- 24/7 emergency call-outs for loss of power, tripping circuits and burning smells
- Consumer unit and fuse board upgrades with RCBO protection and surge protection
- EICRs for landlords, buyers and homeowners, with clear coded reports
- Full and partial rewires, fault finding and sockets and lighting
- EV charger installation, PAT testing and commercial electrical work
How we work
- You speak to an electrician, not a call centre
- A fixed price before any work starts, and no surprises on the invoice
- Every job tested and certified to the current Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Notifiable work registered with Building Control through NAPIT, so you get a compliance certificate
- A 100% satisfaction guarantee and a 5-year labour guarantee on new installations
- Tidy work: we protect floors, clear up and leave everything as we found it
Standards and accreditations
We're registered with NAPIT, one of the UK's government-approved competent person schemes, which means our work is regularly assessed and we can self-certify notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. Our electricians hold City & Guilds and EAL qualifications, are fully insured and DBS-checked.
Where we work
We cover every part of Newcastle upon Tyne, from the city centre, Jesmond and Gosforth to Heaton, Byker, Walker, Benwell, Fenham and Scotswood, plus Wallsend, Longbenton and Gateshead. See all the areas we cover.
Training the next generation
We support apprentices and electrical students in Newcastle, because the trade only stays good if experienced electricians pass on what they know. It's also why we built iZapp, a training and certificate platform for UK electricians and apprentices.
